Description
This four poster bed, originally from New England or New York , is a later style Federal Bed. A dramatic lamb’s tongue leads from the square into the turning with a swag and drape carved urn above it. The long bulbous vase has been shortened and carved in an ornate leaf motif. The vase has a long curved tapered column above it with the classic leaf motif above it. The post is particularly heavy in section, a fore runner of the Empire style.
Available in any size in maple with stained or painted finish and in tiger maple, cherry or mahogany in a natural or stained finish.
