A superb example of American style. The original of this bed is attributed to John Goddard of Newport, Rhode Island, one of the most accomplished American craftsmen of the 18th century. The footposts of this bed are stop-fluted on the long taper and twist-fluted in the vase section. The turnings show an excellent sense of proportion while the delicate moldings accentuate the Marlborough foot. The headposts are pencil posts as in the original. This bed is shown in queen size in Honduras mahogany.
Available in any size in maple with stained or painted finish and in tiger maple, cherry or mahogany in a natural or stained finish.
