Description
This Shaker bed is based on one in the Fruitlands Museum in Harvard, Mass. Shaker beds were always low post beds of plain design in cot or twin size. They often had wooden wheels to allow them to be moverd for cleaning. They often used slats to support the mattress rather than rope or sacking. The bed shown here is of maple in undersize queen with slats. The original had wood wheels in slots in the feet.
Available in any size in maple with stained or painted finish and in tiger maple, cherry or mahogany in a natural or stained finish.
